Working together to end homelessness
Our Homes for Cathy workshops are bringing together housing providers, local authorities and homelessness charities from across the eastern region. The popular online webinars feature guest speakers from frontline organisations, and feedback from attendees so far has been very positive.
Recent workshops include Reframing Homelessness (Crisis), Homes for Prison Leavers (DWP) and Skills for Tenancy Sustainment (Crisis Your Own Place CIC). You can watch recordings of the sessions here.
As a founding member of Homes for Cathy | Homes for Cathy is a national alliance of housing associations, helping to raise awareness of the needs of homeless people. Broadland is absolutely committed to ending homelessness. Our regular workshops allow local partners to share best practice so we can work more effectively to tackle the issue in our region.

Christmas treat for children
Generous Broadland partners, contractors and our Development team staff donated more than £3,000 in December to local homeless families.
Their donations paid for Christmas lunch and gifts for 47 families and 53 children living at our St James Lodge scheme, which provides temporary accommodation before tenants move into a permanent home.
Broadland staff did the Christmas shopping, and Sarah Nicholl, Neighbourhood Officer, and Katie Sutton, Local Area Advisor, dressed up as Santa’s elves to deliver the parcels.

Andrew Savage, Executive Development Director, said:
“We are very grateful to our generous contractors, partners, and of course, our amazing staff, who made this Christmas treat possible. It is really tough for families to celebrate when they don’t have their own home, and we are so glad we’ve been able to bring a little festive cheer this year.”
